So I just read that the DMRC are taking the environmental route for the new metro stations. Approximately 90 stations in the third phase are going to be eco-friendly.

Kudos Delhi Metro Authorities but you could have thought of this earlier also !

Better late than never .. hopefully Delhi takes this change open heartily and improve the lives of all.

The weather gods have turned against us it seems. Yesterday the temperature was just like any other torturous day but the humidity .. was unbearable .

Sources say that : Yesterday, humidity levels were between 40 and 79 per cent while the maximum temperature had settled at 41.3 degree, and the minimum was recorded at 28.4 degree Celsius.

Delhi Metro has created a foot over bridge to connect South extension Part I & II. This will make crossing the streets far more safer for the shoppers.

DMRC is constructing the 3rd phase of metro line in Delhi. Wherein, South Extension is getting an underground metro along the ring road.

I just found out that Delhi is completely Kerosene Free !

As of Monday, the Government at Delhi has declared us as the first ever Kerosene Free City. This initiative was started in 2012 with support from 3 major Oil Marketing Companies and the Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Sanctioned expenditure for this project was Rs 62 Crore.

They aim at getting regular maintenance & clean drive across all the markets in Delhi. They also plan to take an action on all the unauthorized kiosk vendors on the street.

So it turns out that Delhi-ites are enrolling for English courses more than the popular Economics & Commerce subjects. There are approximately 4600 seats for the English Literature program and more than 60,000 students have applied.

Thus, making the demand for English Course equivalent to the Commerce & Economics Courses.

Another thing that amazes me is the old thinking of PROTESTING. It seems to be the go to answer for every Indian. Working on a solution is the cure !

It seems that the Residents of north west Delhi’s Sultanpuri area, along with Congress legislator Jai Kishan Wednesday staged a protest against the ongoing power crisis in the national capital. What is the way out if every one is just complaining and protesting ??

Hi All !


As soon as these 2 words - Admissions Open - graced the title of every news portal, the students have caused a stampede outside colleges. 


Sources say that Delhi University has sold over 3.27 lakh admission forms, both online and offline, and around 1.92 lakh students have applied for various undergraduate courses.The DU admissions for 54,000 seats began on June 2 and will end on June 16.

Hope Delhi continues this spirit and commitment to get educated but don't forget DU is an option just like many others. Don't give up hope if you don't get admission dear students.

Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project was in news due to its approval by the Delhi’s Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung on 11 June 2014.

RRTS is a rail based system that connects small but fast developing towns in the NCR region. The goal of RRTS is to reduce the dependence of commuters on road based transportation to a combination of road-cum rail transportation system.

The Union Cabinet on 11 July 2013 approved constitution of National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) for designing, developing, implementing, financing, operating and maintaining Regional Rapid Transit system (RRTS).

Me & my friends were sitting yesterday & we tried to figure out how to beat the heat in this scorching & body melting weather !! We had a prolonged discussion & here's the results :-

• Bathe in sunscreen & keep your face covered with a scarf or something
• Always carry an umbrella to keep your head cool
• Don't forget to hydrate ! Keep a bottle of water handy
• When on the move, rely on refreshing drinks like lassi or sugarcane juice as opposed to tea & coffee
• If the heat is too much to bare, then find shelter in an ATM :P
• Try keeping a handy fan with you

According to me, nothing feels more divine than taking a dip in a swimming pool. And at the end of the discussion that's exactly what we did !!

I feel proud of the Indian women today .. I hate the damsel in distress kind of girls .. I just read up about this woman who fought back and did not need to depend on some man to save her.

The story plays as .. the girl & her mother were out for a stroll in the park at the high security area of Chanakya Puri .. when he was approached by a young boy trying to tease & molest her .. she tried to ignore the tapori like behavior but then it got out of control .. she called the cops but by the time they arrived the boy started to flee .. The girl courageously chased him down & handed him over to the police !!

So it turns out that the Delhi Police authorities have initialized a center to spy on the social media activities done by us.

Stalking Much ... ???

However, its good in a way as there is a drastic need for an effort to monitor provocative postings. It's about time someone takes an action for the same.

Maybe now Delhi police and other such authorities will get a bit more social and thus, the citizens more informed !
