WLCI reports on Nawroz

Hi All !

So it turns out yesterday was another festival which got shadowed by the Janamashtmi celebrations. The minority clan of Parsi's engaged in the joyous occasion of "Nawroz", a term that translate to The New Day.

This day marks the end of the Parsi year and everyone gathers to observe in peace the memory of departed souls of family members and friends. This tradition of celebrating Nawroz falls twice in the year, once at the time of northern equinox, March 21st to celebrate the spring festival, and once during the months of July/August.

Yesterday was celebrated as the last day of the year for Parsi's. According to Wikipedia, it is known as Pateti, but the population of 700 Parsi's in the Delhi NCR region feel differently !

Whatever be the name of the festival ! WLCI wishes the Parsi's with a warm heart !
